Do you really think the there is some major cover up with dairy lobbyists and the gov't? It just bothers me to see sites out there that are called milksucks.com. If you ask me they're "teet" parasites. Sucking of the teet of milk. Teetscukers.
Someone at work called me a tit sandwitch the other day. I immediately thought of you Matt Bright.
Washington Times -
Milk and dairy products do not promote healthy bones in kids and young adults, a Washington-based research group found after analyzing 58 studies.
"The review was prompted by a 'calcium paradox,' the researchers said. Though Americans are some of the world's highest consumers of dairy products, U.S. rates of osteoporosis and bone fracture also are among the world's highest."
Dairy has little benefit on children's bone health?
Study: Exercise, Not Milk Best for Children's Bones
Milk does NOT do a body good, counter to what most of you have been brainwashed to believe by the dairy industry. Even dietary supplements are showing little effect, which suprises me since that is what I rely on to get calcium.

Arctic fox
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia.
The Arctic fox (Alopex lagopus or Vulpes lagopus) is a small fox native to cold Arctic regions of the Northern Hemisphere. Although some authorities have suggested placing them in the Vulpes genus, they have long been considered the sole member of the genus Alopex.
Description
Arctic foxes have coats that come in two distinct color schemes.Foxes of the white scheme are white in the winter and in thesummer are dull brown, remaining whitish underneath. Foxes of the bluescheme are light gray in the winter, and in the summer aregray with a bluish tint.
Arctic foxes tend to be 50 to 60 cm long, not including a 30-cm tail. Theyare 20 to 30 cm tall at the shoulder, and usually weigh from 3 to 6 kg. Thus, theyare about the size of a domestic cat.
The species name, lagopus, means "rabbit foot," a reference to the thick hair on the pads of the animal's feet. Thehair helps reduce heat loss into snow and ice, and it improves traction.
Habits
Arctic foxes eat a wide variety of things, including lemmings, birds and their eggs, carrion, and plants. The most important of thesefoods is the lemming. A family of foxes can eat dozens of lemmings each day. When their normal prey is scarce, Arctic foxes havebeen known to scavenge the leftovers of larger predators, such as polar bears, even though polar bears' prey includes the Arctic fox itself.
The foxes tend to form monogamous pairs in the breeding season. Litters of abouthalf a dozen to a dozen whelps are born in the early summer, a very large litter size for mammals. The parents raise the young in a large den.
Population and distribution
Arctic foxes have a circumpolar range, meaning that they are foundthroughout the entire Arctic, including Russia, Canada, Alaska, Greenland,Iceland, and Svalbard. They areplentiful in most areas, although a few isolated populations are struggling.
The population of Arctic foxes tends to fluctuate in a cycle along with the population of lemmings. Because the foxesreproduce very quickly and often die young, population levels are not seriously impacted by trapping. Still, they have been eradicated from many areas where humans are settled.
The Arctic fox is frequently losing ground to the larger red fox. Historically, the Grey Wolf has kept the number of red foxes down, but as wolves have beenhunted to near extinction, the red fox population has grown larger, taking overthe niche of top predator. In areas of northern Europe there are programs to hunt redfoxes in the Arctic fox's previous range.

Q: You've fought over 7,000 fights as a professional wrestler. Is there one fight that stands out?
A: There was a dog collar match between Greg Valentine and myself. The promoters wanted a brutal match that people would keep coming back to see. That sounded good... in principle. And one time? But to do it every night? Never crossed this dumb wrestler's head. I had special collars made up with sheep's wool on the inside, thinking that it would be a little easier on the neck. Greg Valentine and I did this match about 40 times. He had me by the hair and he had his fist wrapped inside the chain and he was wailing on my ear. He was mad at me, not because I was beating him with a chain but because by the 29th match, we both had a rash around our necks from the sheep's wool that looked like herpes.

Also, he mentions that it is always the starving countries that can find the most money for defense. This is interesting and makes me think of North Korea--a prison-state of starving, fearful people, with a gangster with nuclear capabilites heading it up.
And we always turn back to America, the most hungry nation of all. Our bellies are full -- bloated even -- but our appetite is for resources, emotions, entertainment, religion, power, oil, energy, prestige far exceeds the rest of the world.
Those who feel lack are the ones who desire the most. Have you ever dealt with someone who feels like there is never enough? They are insatiable, and nothing ever pleases them for long.

I view very few pro-woman events. It's just so much more hip to be a gay man these days than a straight woman.
Even politically, it is much more palatable to get behind the gay man who says "I just want to marry my boyfriend" than the woman I heard at the GW inaguration protest talking about reproductive rights. She was speaking to the crowd about how thankful she was to get an abortion. It just didn't sound right.
It's a Sunday night in April (doesn't that sound nice? I'm looking at the snow-covered soccor fields out my window).

I had a bout of the "ideal insomnia" (as James Joyce refered to anyone who finished Finnegans Wake and started reading it again - It's a circular reference with the first sentence starting on the last page and the last sentence on the first, and it's hard to read.) at about 3:30 last night, and I came up with these gems:
Pun: This war sure is keeping a lot of people occupied.
One must look deep inside their heart to see how truly fat they have become.

"GOP strategists hope that the proposed changes to Social Security can transform a program that has long been identified with the Democrats, creating a generation of new investors who see their interests allied with the Republicans.
The administration's transformation of civil service rules at federal agencies, for instance, would limit the power and membership of public employee unions -- an important Democratic financial artery.
If the Bush agenda is enacted, "there will be a continued growth in the percentage of Americans who consider themselves Republican, both in terms of self-identified party ID and in terms of their [economic] interests," said Grover Norquist, the president of Americans for Tax Reform and an operative who speaks regularly with White House senior adviser Karl Rove."
"Most people who are investors tend to vote Republican," said Mehlman, manager of Bush's reelection campaign. "This creates conditions under which voters are more likely to support politicians who are pro-growth, pro-ownership, pro-free market."

My mom is being sent down to St. Louis this coming week for treatment as there is nothing more the doctors are able to do for her here. She is likely to be gone for the next 2-3 months for chemo and bone marrow transplants. they say she has a 20-25% chance of making it. Talk about grim.
Please excuse me while I go cry. .
She is now dealing with a doctor who only works with leukemia patients at a cancer treatment center at barnes jewish hospital down there (The HUGE hospital by downtown) It is a really great hospital so we are hopeful!!

"Vitamin K" trips that I was taking during 2001 and 2002. Not being exposed
to the concept of "reptilians" before these experiences, there was no
unconscious suggestion that influenced these encounters. While in the "fourth
dimension" (and I did not, in fact, have any idea at all as to what I was
actually seeing or "supposed" to be experiencing), I found myself in what I
could only refer to as a realm of archetypal human forms, or what I called (at
the time) the "soul matrix." As poignant as these experiences seemed at the
time, in retrospect I was really only hitting the lower levels of astral
existence. I recorded these experiences in another file, which I have
tentatively titled "Prolonged Exposure to a Near-Death Experience," which will
hopefully be released sometime in the near future."

Just the title of the article, THE APOCALYPSE IS ITS OWN SOLUTION, is great. Fear of destruction is a self-fulfilling prophecy. Plus, let's be clear: George Bush has a disease, and so does anyone who votes for him.
"People who vote for Bush are somehow blind to what is very obvious to others. It’s as if they’ve become hypnotized and fallen under the spell that he is casting. People who support Bush become unwitting agents through which this non-local disease feeds and replicates itself. By supporting him they are collaborating with and becoming parts of the greater, interconnected and self-organizing field of the disease."

She wants to go home
From door way to door way
Street corner to corner
With neon ghosts in the city
And she sings

The "boys" on this blog can't help themselves. They drink too much and they think too much about politics. Forgive them for they know not what they do. (I'd like to add "they mean well" but we both know that would be a LIE)
Have you seen any good movies lately?
I'd actually settle for mediocre.
"Everyone is talking about this monumental legislation as if they've read it. News reporters, commentators, political analysts, think tanks; 9/11 families; and yes, members of Congress are busy sounding off as experts trying to convince the American public that Congress should pass it. Have any of these people actually read it?"
No, not really.
I find this so ironic and scary, that I'm laughing. Is this what kind of government the founding fathers intended? Maybe the bill actually contains the King James Bible, and that will be our new law! This is hilarious to me in its absurdity. We live in this electronic information age and yet are still beholden to the printed word.
It's like that joke about 500 monkeys typing for 500 years -- they will eventually come up with an Intelligence Reform and Terrorism Prevention Act.

"Hyperreality is significant as a paradigm to explain the American cultural condition. Consumerism, because of its reliance on sign exchange value (e.g. brand X makes you cool, car Y means you’re rich), is the contributing factor in creating hyperreality. Hyperreality tricks the consciousness into detaching from any real emotional engagement, instead opting for artificial simulation, and endless reproductions of fundamentally empty appearance. Essentially, fulfillment or happiness is found through simulation and imitation of the real rather than through reality itself."
-From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Examples of hyperreality
- a sports drink of a flavour that doesn't exist ("wild ice zest berry")
- a plastic Christmas tree that looks better than a real Christmas tree ever could
- a magazine photo of a model that has been touched up with a computer
- almost all video games
- a well manicured garden (nature as hyperreal)
- Disney World and Las Vegas
- pornography ("sexier than sex itself")
- The stock market
One was Timothy Leary's 8-Circuit Model of Consciousness.
Curcuit 4 is the Social-Sexual Circuit. This circuit is concerned with operating within social networks, and the transmission of culture across time. This circuit is said to have first appeared with the development of tribes. Leary never associated a drug with it, but later writers have associated it with MDMA and Ecstasy.
Curcuit 5 is the Neurosomatic Circuit, the first of the left-brain, "higher" circuits which are inactive in most humans. It allows one to see things in multi-dimensional space instead of the 4 dimensions of Euclidean space-time, and is there to aid in the future exploration of outer space. It is said to have first appeared with the development of leisure-class civilizations around 2000 BC. It is associated with hedonism and eroticism. Leary says this circuit is stimulated by marijuana and Tantric practices, or simply by experiencing the sensation of free fall at the right time.
Leary claims that this model explained, among other things, the social conflict in the 1960s, where the mainstream, said to be those with circuit 4 active and characterized as tribal moralists by Leary, clashed with the counter-culturists, said to be those with circuit 5 active and characterized as individualists and hedonists.
I feel for you and your Mom, Monica. Mostly bad. But the hair will grow back and already the family has talked openly much more just how much they love and cherish their mother and wife (and grandmother).
I'm grateful this Thanksgiving for many things, among them the ability to be so ungrateful for what I have, and taking my luxuries for granted. I'm grateful that I can bitch, whine, and moan about how others have it so good and I don't. I love being ignorant.
Thank you Lord for giving me so much...But I want more.

Margaret... my mom goes back in for a 4 day round of chemo on the 13th. She will go in for 4 days in January and February also.
She will probably lose what hair she has left. But that's no matter!!
She feels good most days. She has gotten her Christmas shopping done and made me lunch today!
What a woman!
Everything else seems to be okay.
She's my mom!
