I got power last night!!!

power=heat

still no cable though so no internet.

Friday, March 17, 2006

Since I'm staying at my dad's due to lack of power at home I saw him after he got off work last night. He's been working 16 hour days for CWL&P since Monday and it's starting to show. To complicate matters, people are starting to complain to him about their power like the crews aren't doing their best to get them back up. All crews are working 16 hours on and 8 off and at the same time there are 75 crews from out of town also helping out.

He told me a story last night that on the radio he heard "Emergency help needed...shots fired". Now this wasn't a police radio, it was the utilities. Apparently after that, the worker who heard the shots ran after the two people, but lost them in an alley just as police cars showed up to the scene.

Shit sucks, but people have to keep their heads about it. I kind of wish that the army guard would do some patrols like I got used to in Louisana after Katrina hit down there. I'm getting nervous, especially after I heard about the stabbing on Lenox this week as it is not far from my house.

Ok, I put up a little photo page of the damage at my house if you want to look.

Wow, Brian! You survived!!!!
I might have power today!!!

If not today, tomorrow morning. I miss electricity so much...

I've got that Tom Petty song "Refugee" stuck in my head. It's pretty appropriate.

This is so much better than myspace:

http://isolatr.com/
My shit got fucked up.

No power at my house for a while and my front yard is completely covered in tree.

Fortunately there wasn't any structural damage to the house or I'd be living in a shelter right now.

Stopped by the office to get on the computer and check things out here tonight.

Saturday, March 11, 2006

What am I listening to right now? "Young Turks" by Rod Stewart if you were curious. Oh, and "That's Not Me" by The Beach Boys. Here's the lyrics if you haven't heard the song before. http://www.seeklyrics.com/lyrics/Beach-Boys/That-s-Not-Me.html

I've decided to tell some people about this blog so hopefully more are checking it out. This dirty little secret...this slut.

With this new gear I'm able to watch Conan O' Brien's Finland episode as I write this. Gold baby, gold.

So drunk right now, but so content. Try to bring me down right now you bastards, I challenge you.

I wish comments were enabled on this shit. Matt, can you help me out? My brothers blog at http://anotherdayforeric.blogspot.com/ allows this. Why can't this be the same format? I live in my little brothers shadow. Sad isn't it? He can succeed where I've failed.

Friday, March 10, 2006

I played the theme to Good Times really loud late last night for no real reason.

Going to play poker tonight with some coworkers. Hopefully I'll win this time.
If I don't, you are a disease ridden sex worker. That's the breaks kid.

Fuck, now I've got the Good Times theme stuck in my head.

Thursday, March 09, 2006

I've begun to wonder if anyone looks at this.

I mean, what sort of loser would be interested in the random nonsense I post up.

It's not like I have original ideas or anything.

Fuck the patriot act. The most unpatriotic of legislation that has passed congress.

I've been playing with this behemoth 26" tv/lcd monitor I got today.

It's almost terrifying.

Tuesday, March 07, 2006

Now the valley cried with anger,
"Mount your horses! Draw your sword!"
And they killed the mountain-people,
So they won their just reward.

Now they stood beside the treasure,
On the mountain, dark and red.
Turned the stone and looked beneath it...
"Peace on Earth" was all it said.

The social entropy is killing me inside.

No one likes doing things with Brian.

I'm such a pariah.

Saturday, March 04, 2006

War is the only game in which it doesn't pay to have the home-court advantage.
Ahhh, another Saturday morning.

Just sitting down to watch Best Week Ever and The Soup. A couple shows that are my guilty pleasure.

What's some of your "guilty pleasures"? Please keep donkey show comments out of this.

Friday, March 03, 2006

What is a "pants party"?

I'm so unhip.
This is just irritating:

George Costanza's answering machine
I just woke up.

Forgot to set my alarm last night so I'm already late for work.

Think I might watch Knight Rider before I get ready to go. I'm already late so what does it matter at this point?

Iraq: The Musical

Each month, the Huffington Post Contagious Festival features original work by talented designers, activists, filmmakers and comics.

I particularly liked this piece likening Batman/Bruce Wayne to a true American conservative who's not gonna take it anymore!

"Bruce Wayne is one of the richest men in America. He fights what he likes to call 'crime.' What I found is that 97% of his attacks were on those who are poor."

"Batman is the GOP ideal of a man pushed too far by taxes; a man sick of supporting the poor; a man who wants to feel their bloody teeth in his fist.

I love that Batman attacks anyone who deserves it, even the mentally ill. Two-Face can’t help that he’s Bi-polar. Yet, Batman continually uses violence against those who escape from Arkham Asylum. This is a man with principle!"

Sexist jokes

A sexist joke is one that expresses the sexist belief that one gender or sex is somehow superior to the other. These are usually told nowadays in conjunction with the Sick Joke category, meaning that they are not intended to be funny because the speaker holds that opinion, but that they are funny for the shock value.

Examples

Q: Why did God invent yeast infections?
A: So that women too would know what it's like to live with an irritating cunt!

Q: Why does a man have a hole in the end of his penis?
A: To get oxygen to his brain!

Q: Why couldn't Helen Keller drive?
A: Because she was a woman!

Q: A woman gets hit by a car. Whose fault is it?
A: It's the woman's fault - what was she doing outside the kitchen?

Q: A woman gets hit by a bike. Whose fault is it?
A: It's the driver's fault for driving into a kitchen.

Q: Why do they slap babies on the bottom when they're born?
A: To knock the dicks off the stupid ones.

12. Barbara Bush

"she remarked of poor people displaced by Hurricane Katrina, 'What I’m hearing, which is sort of scary, is they all want to stay in Texas.' A true aristocrat, she sees poor people as another species."

The Aristocrats. That was a funny movie. The punchline is better if you think of Barbara Bush as one of the family members who walk into the talent agent's office. Seriously, she should shit on stage, have her son sodomize her, and then role around in piss.

What? Bob Saget can say it but I can't?
More Beasts:
30. Hillary Clinton
29. Terri Schiavo

Good stuff. I don't understand the Hillary worshipping. She's a flip-flopping nutso who will say anything for more power. Is she worse than Bush? Maybe equal.
This week's homework assignment:

Object-Oriented Linked List Programming Project

Overview and Objectives

This assignment will give you an opportunity to work more deeply with a objects in a linked list.

Assessment

This activity is worth 20 points.

The program must compile successfully. (0 points if it doesn't)

The program must execute without java runtime errors and reasonably accomplish the assigned task. (8 points)

The program must contain programming style elements. Inline comments explaining what is going on, and/or command line printouts describing what is happening at runtime. (2 points)

Analysis and discussion in the Blackboard discussion board (10 points).

Instructions

Based on the existing specifications of a linked list (see the LinkedListTester.java file), you will be creating an object of your own choosing, declaring and instatiating it, and then manipulating it within a linked list.
Requirements: Create an object of your own choosing. It could be class lightbulb with one variable indicating on or off. Any object will do.

Inside the LinkedListTester.java, create a function that instantiates your object, fills it with data, inserts, manipulates, and deletes it from a linked list. Examples are available in the file.

100 manipulations are required. For example, 20 insertions at the beginning of the list, 20 insertions at the end of the list, 40 deletions,10 retrievals, 10 find positions, plus one full iteration.

Must use get, add, set, remove, findPos, and ListIterator.

Upload your LinkedListTester.java file to Blackboard Linked Lists Homework 2 assignment area AND to the Linked List discussion board. Describe your object, how you manipulated it, and summarize your results in 150-300 words. Reply to at least one other post.
Holy Shit! 39. Dr. David Hager (What a beast!)

"The author of books like Stress and the Woman’s Body and As Jesus Cared for Women, Hager repeatedly sodomized his ex-wife for years against her will..."

Sentence: A three-day group ramming by the multi-dildoed Oregon chapter of NOW, after which Hager will walk with a pronounced limp, never to regain control of his sphincter, and discover himself to be inexplicably pregnant.

What a republican!
Ohh! George Lucas and Rush Limbaugh! This loathsome people list is only getting better!
I prefer to post my secrets completely out in public. I'm always humiliated, but I'm not a coward.

Fuck those anonymous whiny babies.

News flash: "You are the sum total of all your failures." That's how we learn.

Oh, and for the girl in her boyfriend's brothers room about to kiss him at three in the am, you suck.

I hope he doesn't die in Iraq either. That would be such a loss.
50 most loathsome people in america. I'm only to number 45, and I'm hooked. Who's gonna be number one?

God Bless Amattica.

Last night we watched a little coming-of-age love story called "My Summer of Love". It was filled with angst, lust, violence, betrayal, and fucking gorgeous cinematography.

The English countryside is phenomenally beautiful. I really want a house there. Please. Can we move Ammatica over to Scotland?

In addition to getting up at the crack of dawn and milking cows, feeding the pigs and horses, shoveling hay, and plowning, I hope on our days off (3) we have a strict exercise regimen. I've not worked out in 4 months, and feel the winter pounds weighing me down. Plus I work in an office during the week and drink and smoke all weekend. My life is very sedentary.

Thank god that will all change once I move to Amattica.

Thank you Pop Culture for saving the world and this blog. Too bad it didn't work. Why the pictures of Michael Jackson with boobs? I guess it doesn't matter. As long as it distracts me from my dayjob, it's done its job.

I'm tired. When I go out drinkey on Wednesday night, I'm sleepy on Thursday. I'm sure Whiskey is still sleeping. She can and often does sleep 12 hours a day.

"With the Stock Show in town, I figured I'd see Brokeback Mountain. I hear, though, that some people are shocked because it's a gay love story. Most people weren't expecting to see a couple of bohunks making out. That's because most people have never been to the Stock Show. I have, a couple of times. And from what I've seen I'd guess there are some cowboys who are openly gay. Let's say 95% of them. The other five percent are closeted."

"I can't answer the media's hot-button question of whether America is ready for a gay cowboy movie, but I can tell you that gay cowboys are."

- Filthy Critic's review of Brokeback Mountain

Yeah, so I put this Tom Waits CD I bought but never got into on my iPod yesterday, and on the way to work this morning this song plays.

Christmas Card From A Hooker In Minneapolis

Fucking great! It's about this hooker trying to clean her life up, quitting the dope, and moving in with this guy she knows from the track. He says he loves me, even though it's not his baby.

Let's all blog about myspace...that seems like a good idea.

The more work I have to do the more I want to blog.

Mike got me addicted to myspace. Sorry beavers, that's where I'm hanging nowadays. I swing by blogger to say hi now and again.

Just think of it as I'm moving out, but we are still dating. I still love you, I just need to do my own thing.

You understand. I love you. Bye.

"I'm actually for the war, not out fear of phantom terrorists like these idiot country singers, but because American conscienceness exported to that part of the world has positive benefits."

I think we should re-format the wily beaver. Instead of posting new thoughts and ideas, we should all chime in our favorite past posts and explain what was going on and why they were so important. It will be like "I love the 70's - 80's - 90's" on VH1.

Maybe we could call it the wily beaver storytellers.

I'm going to start out with Matt K's post concerning his support of the Iraq war: "I mean what was he thinking... did he really think that a middle eastern country would embrace or evan understand 'American consciencesness' Even more- what is this American consciencesness that he's talking about?

In retrospect the fallacy in Matt K's reasoning seems obvious, but on the other hand, I believe Matt K might have been on to something.

I do think we could have done something positive over there. We could have showed them some respect while we were bombing the hell out of them. That would have been classy.
LPS~ Happy New Year to you!

Let's play a game.

In movies, you'll often hear cliche dialogue appear in film after film. Similarly, the most common phrase found in movies is a character says: "Let's get out of here."

Fill in the blank

In action or sci-fi movies you might hear this conversation:

WOMAN ON STREET (QUIZZICALLY): "Hmm. That's an interesting cloud formation"
MAN ON STREET (ALARMED): "That's no cloud formation!"

It turns out to be an alien spaceship fully armed with nuclear bombs coming straight at them.

Each of you has to fill complete the following phrase:

"That's a ________________"
"That's no ________________!"

I'll go first.

Kid 1: "Yumm. That's an interesting chocolate brownie fudge ice cream cone you are eating."
Kid 2: "OH NO! This is no chocolate brownie fudge ice cream cone!" (Kid 2 vomits)

Hey Tic Tac nice lights

Happy Thanksgiving to every Beaver :-)

Wednesday, November 23, 2005

Thankyou. Isn't that like some special holliday? Armistace Day?
May 20th
Let us know what is the day of your wedding Monica. We are going to pop a bottle of Champagne with our without the married couple.

Sunday, November 20, 2005

That's very interesting.

Listen to EDAN tic tac. The beauty of the beat.

I didn't know Salvador Dali was a beaver.

Interesting enough that I did attribute the thoughts of Sal to that of our own tic tac adams.
Skinny if I tell you when the wedding is then you might try to crash it as previously threatened. All I will say is that it is on a Saturday in May.
Tic Tac is my own Salvador Dali. By the way, that's who said all those quotes.

See you Thankgiving weekend!
the problem with drugs is that rather then enhancing the users understanding of his / her surroundings, they instead take the user back to a state of infancy where comprehension becomes limited at best... and then they wear off.

In the end - little beside absurd artistic creations can be achieved during a drug induced state.

Thursday, November 17, 2005

I'm back bitches...maybe not.
Monica, when is your wedding?
my quote was from packing heat.

1. "At the age of six I wanted to be a cook. At seven I wanted to be Napoleon. And my ambition has been growing steadily ever since." - sounds like tic tac

2. "I don't take drugs: I am drugs." - sounds like tic tac again

3. "Those who do not want to imitate anything, produce nothing." kinda sounds like tic tac, though I'm not sure.

Then again Matt might just be making them up.

I'll make up some quotes too and you guess who said them.

1. Out of all the religions, atheism is the least clever.

2. When I was 12 I wanted to be a rodeo whore, 12 acid tripping years later I found myself all alone in a small town called Sandwich building homes.

3. I may be a feminist, but I'd let brian wilson treat me like a prostitute.
Which beaver said which quote:

1. "At the age of six I wanted to be a cook. At seven I wanted to be Napoleon. And my ambition has been growing steadily ever since."

2. "I don't take drugs: I am drugs."

3. "Those who do not want to imitate anything, produce nothing."

Wednesday, November 16, 2005

I've got a good one. This a pre-war one, "Saddam is a survivor. He'll go into exile in Saudi Arabia."
that's chubby.
Challenge: Which Beaver once said this?
" I live in a world of make-believe and metaphor. My perceptions both guide and seduce me. "

"Jigsaw returns, this time as self-styled family counselor."
-- Cynthia Fuchs, POPMATTERS

"Veni vidi vomit. That's Latin for: I came, I saw, I saw 'Saw II.' "
-- John Beifuss, COMMERCIAL APPEAL (MEMPHIS, TN)

"The film's one-note dialogue, insufferable characters and lack of scares make Saw II just a tedious exercise in explicit violence."
-- Timothy Knight, REEL.COM

Yeah! Let's go see Saw II!
Eddie Guerrero passes away

You should have seen these grown musclebound men including Ray Mysterio and Chris Benoit (some of Eddie's best friends) crying into their facemasks and the camera. It was very sad. They made Monday night RAW a tribute show, and you could see fans including kids and teenagers opening weeping.

He dropped dead while brushing his teeth. He was 38.
Oh my GOD! I know I'm a little slow checking the blog now and then, and I just saw the picture of the colon cleasing kit debris. I'm speechless. Also impressed.

The online personality quizzes post is a peircing and incisive look into the gritty personalities and disgustingly true behavior of several of the Wily Beavers.

About the nasty cats....

I do not approve of caring for those beasts, but neither will I betray your confidence. Very dissappointing.

I keep hearing things about this SuicideGirls site. I can't visit it yet because I'm at work, but it's basically an erotica site "which has until now enjoyed a reputation as porn even feminists can love. It offers burlesque tours, clothes and DVDs in addition to a sprawling online library of naked punk and goth women."

SuicideGirls Gone AWOL

And there are anti-Suicide girls sites and blogs written by ex-suicide girl models. (Anti-SuicideGirls blogs can be found here and here.)
And don't forget about SuicideBoys.

Final thought: Every time you post a link to a site, Google reads that link and increases that site PageRank in its search engine. But before you try increasing the PageRank of colonoscopy.com, Your site must be "important" for your link to be considered. Sorry Beavers. We are getting there.

Castoreum

Animal scent markings are notorious for smelling terrible. But castoreum is different. It has a musky smell that some people describe as van...
